| Opened in the spring of 2006, The Palate is a dream come true for Shana Finnegan. “On a trip to London, I ventured off the beaten path and found these quaint little shops that reminded me of Stockholm. I’ve always wanted to find something that my mother and I could do together. I felt that a cozy, welcoming space with lovely and unique items would be a good fit. Part of our stores hominess comes from being in Stockholm.” |

Both Shana and her mother Nancy grew up in the
Lake Pepin - Stockholm area. They attribute their
love of baking and cooking to Nancy’s mother -
“It’s part of our heritage.” The Palate offers fresh
baked items daily so customers can grab a cup of
coffee or tea and have something to eat while
they’re shopping. If Shana’s not baking, Nancy is.
“Our chocolate chip cookies are pretty much a
staple and our regulars love them. There is
something to be said when customer walk into
the store and smells cookies baking. It makes
you feel at home to see someone working in the kitchen.” |
